OK, faction warfare - vitric forge, we have seen some clan teams with 4+ jumpjet snipers on top of the roof between the gates when defending.
Usually these mechs are shadowcats and hunchback IIc but any mech with 47.9 JJ height can make it up there without leapfrogging from other buildings.
Occasionally you see timberwolves up there camping as well.
Plainly spoken: this needs to be countered somehow, either with JJ brawlers of our own and/or poptarts.
due to the extreme temperatur of vitric I cant really recommend ppc poptarting but the bj-3 can definately do it, however I dont like bringing all energy mechs to vitric.
energy can be a backupweapon but the heavy firepower needs to come from ballistics and missiles when playing vitric.
as far as JJ brawlers go any 50-55t mech with 5+ jumpjets does the job if played right. (55t w 5 jets is a bit of a squeeker to get up there but practice makes perfect)
these include griffins, wolverines, shadowhawks, trebuchets and the odd enforcer (not the best enforcers though.. sadly)
45t mechs such as vindicators and phoenix hawks work too but the reliance on energyweapons is not a good thing here.
The treb however can also be a narc poptart due to its narc quirk that it shares with the raven 3l. the XL engine makes it a bit iffy to take into brawls though but after narcing everyone up it can support the rest of the team with srm and medium lasers.
TBT-7M(C)
Using the narcer along with a couple of lrm mechs is probably the tactic that is easiest to incorporate into our groups.
The other option is to have a full lance of jumpjet brawlers in 50-55t mechs. (oddball note.. the 60t quickdraw 4g works well too but doesnt really bring more firepower than the mediums due to the jumpjets weighing twice as much as for the mediums). This needs practice however since everyone has to be familiar with the handling of their jumpjet mech on this map. Doing a private practice to check the movements as a group would be a good idea.
All jumpjet mechs going up there needs to bring a UAV and know in which order they launch it (its ok to have 2 up at once.. but 4 at once is a huge waste when you might need them 20s later)
